Uniform in University of Sargodha

In Sargodha, if you see two students are sitting and are discussing an issue with full attention then it is certain that they are bemoaning their miserable conditions in Sargodha.  It can be the problem of poor residence and meals due to absence of university hostels or university supervised hostel for boys, but if you get somewhat closer to listen you will find the fingers of your hands less to count all the problems. About three months ago i was weighing up my wings to write against some  unfortunate incidences in the university but somehow restricted myself from doing this. I am not here to discuss those things but 'uniform' a yowl which has almost paralyzed my nerves for more than 4 years.

The implementation of uniform in the whole university looks somewhat ridiculous. Does not it? If you search the word uniform in oxford dictionary you will find a clear cut definition 'the special set of clothes worn by workers of an institution or children at school'. The compulsion of uniform to the students of professional degrees is strictly against the decorum of professionalism and this will inversely effect the personality grooming of students. At this highest level of study, the students should be allowed to show up what they really are. Everyone should be free to represent his personality. In modern trendy societies 'How You Look' is a big communication tool which can never be build with restriction like uniform. Uniform has been imposed in my department since first day and how i suffered during 5th professional year when i went for apprenticeship is a good example. Believe me i was unable to find a second dress pant (other black pants of uniform) although i was lucky enough to find two or three shirts. I bought two more dresses but the worst came after this. I was used to of washing and pressing my uniform on Monday which was enough for the whole week. While in this short spell of professional life i had to change the dress or combination daily in order to look better than yesterday. I have no more words to show all the mess up that i had there.

Various arguments can be made on this topic as they say this will bring equality among the students. Will these action bring encouragement or discouragement? How these fragile students will handle the interalia of the society where a man do not have shoes to walk on the road while another drives Mercedes-Benz, the clerk of the office can not buy a dress on Eid while his manager wears new Gucci or Armani suit every week, one neighbor can not pay the utility bills while other has too many bank account to count. How a graduate of this university  will keep with the pace of this world is an exterminate question whimpering my mind at the moment. You all please spare some time and ask to yourself the same question and tell me, agree or disagree. I will be appreciated by your comments.

The Game Of The World In Pakaistan

Kay Sera Sera is an Indian song which got attention due to a “different” type of dance featuring Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit. I like this song and still listen it at least two or three times every month. When I searched this song on Youtube I found another song Que Sera Sera from English movie “A Man Who Knew Everything”. Its lyrics are as;
When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother
what will I be
Will I be pretty
will I be rich
Here's what she said to me
(Que Sera Sera, Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see,
Que Sera Sera, What will be will be)
When I was young I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said
(que sera sera…..)
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother what will I be
Will I be handsome will I be rich
I tell them tenderly
(Que Sera Sera…).

When talking about Pakistani Football, I found it just like that little child who questions everyone about his future but he is never answered. Que Sera Sera is a Spanish idiom meaning whatever will be, will be. I also don’t have any answer to the question about future of football, however just like a tender mother I will also reply with Que Sera Sera. It is the earnest desire of all of us to see Pakistan achieving same position that we have achieved in Cricket and hockey. For this all we have to do is to keep on moving and put in all of our energy, than it is up to God to reward us. Even if we are not seeing our goal in front of us, don’t loose heart and don’t stop your efforts. Many of the times situations rather seems to be negative but if we are able to see the other side of the picture it is never negative. It is always false negative or double negative that is the situation is positive in itself.
I will advise you first to have a strong personality. Follow someone who looks like ideal no matter a singer, a writer, a cricket player, a politician or a scientist. But please be realistic while doing this, dont follow a warrior if you are going to be involved in public dealing. Always try to see with your own eyes, listen with your ears, think with your brain and ultimately say what reflects your pesonality. We always talk about team work and its benefits but it definetely calls for individual sacrifices to achieve common purposes. If you feel that your part is done dont sit back, but go and help others to move the team ahead.

After attack on Sri Lankan Cricket Team, Pakistan spend two years in isolation to home any international fixture. This eventually came to an end on 1st March when Palestine Football Team played in Lahore and later in Karachhi on 4th March. Malaysian football team also visited on 9th march. Not sure what will come from cricket or hockey, football has started what is the need of time. In our football life most of the rainbows are still to come so we have to keep rolling toward the goal. As said in the song we should not stop and look either we are still a child or have grown young, just "work, work and work" than definitely we will be handsome and rich nation.

Why I choosed Millatfacebook?

Almost four years ago when i was in first semester, my friends asked, "So Mubashar can you dare to call all female class fellows your sister?" and i replied without any hesitation "yes, when me and they are Muslims they are my sisters". All of them started laughing for any reason and said i am absolute fool and too innocent to say this. But i kept on searching any place where girls are called as sisters. Many  people think that internet is unnecessary for students however my search on internet introduced me with Millatfacebook. How good this social platform is indicated by repetition of word "sister" when we congratulated Mujahida for her first prize. So here are three things which i like in millatfacebook;
  • Firstly, millatfacebook is the only and best social network for Muslims all over the world. Muslims can communicate and share in purely islamic way (for example Emoticons/smiley include Allah, Muhammad (PBUH), Subhan Allah etc before other routinely smiley).
  • Secondly, the environment is free and friendly. You can share, comment, chat and explore new friends just like any other good social platform. People are always encouraging and ready to help without any negative attitude.
  • Thirdly, I will conclude that people on millatfacebook are constructive and practical. There is no usual copy and paste, people always comes with new ideas. You will see many people writing research blogs on ethics, sports, science and technology. People are posting one or two Qurani Ayyats or Hadiths daily on their wall. You can join different groups to learn different aspects of Islam represented in modern ways.
Finally I will salute (without any sense of buttering) the founders and members of Millatfacebook and will advise my fellows to join this social platform which will positively effect their life Insha Allah.

What is Cross Resistance

"Doctor this antibiotic is not working on me and doctor told that infection has produced resistance". It is a pretty common and familiar case as bacteria are producing resistance to different antibiotic agents. Cross resistance is a phenomenon is which bacteria when exposed to an antibiotic produce resistance to that antibiotic as well as to all related antibiotics too. In most of the cases specific bacteria are killed by specific antibiotics and if they produced cross resistance it will create real problems for patient as well as physician. Bacteria consist of a single cell. They  lack brain and their whole life is controlled by DNA transcription and translation but just see how cleverly and how safely they have improved their existence.
In our daily life, we face many hurdles and problems. Somehow we manage to solve the problem and soon we forgot about it. When most of problems occurring in our routine life are same and repeated, why not we make ourselves resistant to these problem? Simply by planning and foreseeing the expected problems, we can avoid many of them in life. If anyone identifies a problem and solve it, he should learn lesson from it. He should store it in his memory and use it to solve the problem if reoccurs and also apply it for all other related problems. This require active participation, keen observation and courage. So be courageous, be social and do not shy to help others. This will make you a person well resistant to problems.
But if we are able to identify interlinked problems and the link between them, than we will be learning many lessons from one problem and this Cross Resistance will made us a man who can stand after a fall and than never fell again.

What is a Pharmacist

Pharmacist is the highly paid profession through out the world. In Europe it is the most paid (per hour) profession even above physician (so called doctors).
Pharmacist are health care practitioners with special focus on medicines (5 years Pharm D degree) as compared to physician who focus disease or pathology. They are employed in medicine manufacturing industries, community and retail pharmacies, in hospitals and as drug inspectors. All the medicine prescribed by the doctor are made by pharmacist. A patient may visit doctor only once or twice during course of illness but he will visit pharmacist regularly to seek guidance about medicines and any additional problem if has occurred. Thus pharmacist are said to be the real man behind health care system. You will be surprised to know that pharmacists are allowed to prescribe medicines in Canada and some states of USA. Otherwise they have this right after doing specialization in certain field.
Unfortunately in Pakistan, hospitals are described as graveyards. If anyone is admitted in hospital, he is more likely to die. It may be due to the fact that patients are carried to hospitals when they are too ill to recover. But I will blame that failure of health profession is due to lack and negligence of pharmacist role. Did you see a pharmacist in a hospital or in a medical store?
Pharmacist are an essential component of allopathic health care system and share equal role as physician do. For a successful system you need pharmacist in;
  • hospital for drug procurement and storage
  • in wards for optimizing patient therapy
  • in retail to provide education and counseling about medication, its risks and benefits
  • Burden of patients can be shared with pharmacist for minor illnesses
  • Starting research and development of medicines in our country according to our social and cultural needs
Unfortunately in Pakistan, Pharmacist are employed only in pharmaceutical industries where they are paid only 10,000 to 12000 rupees. In hospitals, pharmacist are employed on 17 grade with no time scale promotion and there are no ward pharmacist at all. Drug inspector are only in a little number and with such a low pay that they prefer to resign rather than earning by unfair means. The word Pharmacist With Special Interest might not be heard for decades.
I do not want do discuss any politics why the most prestigious profession is treated like this, but the fact is that a good health care is incomplete without Pharmacist and our community will have to bear deaths with wrong medication till pharmacist have reached.

5 things for Muslim Facebook Users

Hi and How are you. I hope all facebook (muslim) users are having good time.
I can recall the day when European cristians celebrated draw-the-Muhammad-day (Nauzubillah). Government banned facebook for a time but public was divided into two major group. First, who were discussing this matter and second kept silent. First group was further on two points either to quit the facebook or not. Quitting the facebook was best Idea as Islam has asked to quit the evil (Fitna) in the bud and Other people argued that we should remain on facebook and fight to improve the image of Islam on international platform.

Sorry to say but in my opinion, second group who kept quiet acted as if they hae reached last degree of emaan (belief). For the first group either condition is correct. I left facebook in myself. But here i want to question the people who remained on the facebook;
1. I ask what they have done for Islam? I dont think Islam need Mafia wars experts or Farmvelle high scorers ;-)
2. What they have done for promoting Islam except only clicking "join the cause" once or twice every week. Were they able to prevent another evil evnt Burn-the-Quran-Day?
3. Did they discussed true sole of Islam with any muslim or nonmuslim? I dont beleive adding more and more friends and viewing their pics will help Islam in any way. ;-)
4. The second evil event has proved your decision was wrong, so what you have planned now? Dont tell me you also have become a part of second group.
5. Hey facebook users how are you doing. Did you noticed I am not talking to you in an Islamic way and did not said Assalam-o-alikum. Its because i am confused at which Stage (darjaa) of Emaan (faith in Islam) you are right now.

May Allah almighty bless us all. Have a good time.

5 things from Young Doctor's Strikes

Its all over the news that young doctors (physician) are on strike and demand an increase in their wages. Here are 5 points that i want to discuss with you people.

1. More than 100,000 rupees per year are spent in the preparation of a doctor. These students (future doctors) pay only 10,000 while remaining is paid by government. In foreign countries students have to get loan for their studies which they pay for almost 5 to 10 years. While in Pakistan they have no loans to pay after graduation.
2. We all know that government treasure are filled through different public taxes. This means more than 90% fee of these doctors are paid by poor Pakistani public (no matter if their real sons are unable to buy books).
3. A national newspaper declares 5 deaths due to negligence of these young "Nation Builders". Relating to my previous point, are they right at such a action toward people who paid their tuition fee, hostel and transport charges by burning their blood and sweats.
4. Government has announced 24 hours ultimatum and suspension from job. What do you think it is right or wrong.  Is it not just like a hijacker who is demanding money otherwise your people will be dead.
5. Now tell me what is wrong with 18000 rupee starting pay. What are expenditures of a young doctor? Why he cant support his family when his house maid is doing this in 2500 rupees college gatekeeper in 6000 rupees. Ok, they are comparing them with Daewoo drivers (Rs.22000 per month) which is the highest and most experienced level of  driver community, while many medium profile doctors are earning several multiples of it per week.

I pardon i have gone too long but i can not control myself from writing when i am on fire. Regards
